EdTribune ("we," "us," "our") operates edtribune.com and its state-specific subdomains. This Privacy Policy describes what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices.
Geographic Scope
EdTribune is intended for United States residents only. We do not offer the Service to individuals in the European Union, European Economic Area, or United Kingdom. We do not knowingly collect data from EU/EEA/UK residents. If you are located in these regions, do not create an account or use the Service. Accounts created from these regions will be terminated.
Information We Collect
Account information. When you create an account, we collect your email address, first and last name, self-selected roles (e.g., educator, parent), referral source, and authentication provider (Google or email magic link).
Usage data. We use Google Analytics to collect standard usage information such as pages visited, time on site, and referring URLs.
Cookies and tracking technologies.
- First-party cookies: We use a session cookie (via Supabase) to keep you signed in.
- Analytics cookies: Google Analytics sets cookies to measure site usage.
- Third-party advertising cookies: Our advertising partners may set cookies to serve relevant ads and measure ad performance.
How We Use Your Information
- Provide and maintain the Service
- Contact you for comment on stories about your district or school
- Send you surveys about education topics
- Improve the site and understand how it is used
- Serve advertisements
How We Share Your Information
Aggregated survey data. We may sell or share aggregated, anonymized survey results with third parties. These results never identify individual respondents.
Advertising partners. Third-party ad networks receive cookie and tracking data for ad targeting and measurement. We do not share your name or email address with advertisers.
No sale of personal information. We do not sell your personal information (name, email) to third parties.
Service providers. We share data with providers that help us operate the Service (hosting, authentication, analytics) under contracts that limit their use of your data.
Your Rights (California Residents)
If you are a California resident, you have the right to:
- Know what personal information we collect about you
- Delete your account and personal data — you can do this at any time from your profile page
- Opt out of sale — we sell only aggregated, anonymized survey data; we do not sell personal information that identifies you

Children's Privacy (COPPA)
EdTribune does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Users who identify as under 13 during onboarding are blocked from creating an account and any associated data is deleted. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, contact us at theedtribune@gmail.com and we will delete it.
Data Retention
We retain your personal information until you delete your account. You can delete your account at any time from your profile page. Aggregated, anonymized data (such as survey results) may be retained indefinitely.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised policy on this page with a new effective date.
